BOAT PARTICULARSReaction is a custom H&H downeast style sport-fisherman with many of the latest upgrades available. She features a cruising speed of 22 knots and a range of over 300 nautical miles! She is truly unique in design and setup explicitly for fishing and being as comfortable as one can be while fishing. She features a 175sq. ft. cockpit with three large fish wells, a large live-well and two ice boxes that hold over 400lbs of ice each. She features a 130lb class fighting chair and a tuna door in the cockpit. Up in the main salon is where the creature comforts come into play with plenty of seating for your whole charter party and the crew. The whole interior of the vessel is climate controlled with two air conditioning units. The main cabin features a large comfortable L shaped seat with a table and a bench seat. Down forward in the lower cabin is a kitchenette, a large head and vee-berth. The vessel is also equipped with a generator so you can use our microwave and/or electric grill to make any of your meals as well as another other 120Volt needs you may have.
The decision for us to switch to a classic downeast hull was rather quite simple. Downeast hulls have a long history dating back to the age of sail. Fisherman and sailors alike did not have the luxury to decide when they wanted to go to sea, they simply had to brave the elements and go. Through several decades of improvements the hull was perfected and as the age of combustion engines replaced sails so did the hulls adapt. What we have today is a vessel that has kept countless fishermen braving the elements, taking them to sea everyday as a livelihood, but most importantly getting them home. We were searching for a hull that would allow us to offer our customers a better platform to bring them to the action and to be more comfortable than any other vessel out there.
The vessel is fully equipped with all U.S.C.G. safety equipment and goes beyond what the requirements are for charter vessels. Her electronics and safety features include three VHF Radio's, two GPS Receivers, a Furuno 36NM Radar, Furuno FCV 1100 which is a 1000Watt color LCD fishfinder, a NAVTEX receiver, a single side band radio, autopilot, satellite telephone, cellular telephone and U.S.C.G. approved life raft.
The fishing equipment aboard Reaction is top of the line no matter what the selected species for the day is from Penn Internationals and Senators all the way to the Shimano Tiagra's. All of the equipment is kept in the best condition because throughout the year we are involved with eight major sport fishing tournaments in the northeast from Montauk Pt, NY to Nantucket Massachusetts.
